What You’ll Need

Pencil
Eraser
Paper
Optional: markers, crayons, or colored pencils

Step 1: Draw the Balloon Shape

Begin by sketching an oval shape, leaving a small opening at the bottom. This forms the main body of the hot air balloon.

Step 2: Add Vertical Sections

Draw several curved lines from the top of the oval down toward the bottom opening. These lines create the segmented look of the balloon and give it depth.

Step 3: Draw the Basket

Below the balloon, draw two short lines extending downward, then connect them with a small rectangle. This will form the basket where passengers would stand.

Step 4: Add Color

Now it’s time to bring your drawing to life. Use any coloring materials you like and fill in your balloon with bright, cheerful colors to make it stand out.

Great job! You’ve completed your hot air balloon drawing. Remember, it doesn’t have to be perfect—every attempt helps you improve and grow your artistic skills.
